22-year old Matthew Cole was pronounced dead at 5:56 a.m. on Sunday morning, Feb. 27th 2022. Coles death was the result of injuries from what police called a “violent crash” in the Bustleton section of the city. CBS-3 PHILLY reported that the incident took place at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue & Verree Road, at around 8 p.m. on Feb. 12th.

Police say Cole was a passenger in a 2008 Nissan traveling Northbound on Verree Road, when it slammed into a 2002 Dodge going Southbound on Verree Road, and attempting to turn onto Bloomfield Avenue. The impact from the crash flipped the Nissan onto its roof, ejecting Cole and a 23 year-year old passenger from the car in the process. The vehicle also caught fire.
Two other men were taken to the hospital, and are still in critical condition. The 66-year old driver of the Dodge was last reported to be in stable condition.
Why’s the drivers name William Eddis III not released? Was there alcohol or drugs involved? Someone needs to investigate this properly.
