Philadelphia Police say they are investigating a shooting that happened in the Frankford section of the city on Saturday night. According to a report from 6 ABC ACTION NEWS, police discovered an 18-year old shooting victim on Glenoch & Pratt Streets.
The 18-year old victim had reportedly been shot multiple times. Two of the shots hit the victim in the chest. Police believe the shooting was the result of a planned “meet-up/drug deal, according to Philadelphia Inspector, D.F. Pace.
“Based on the information from the victims, however, it appears that there were multiple shooters. This looks like it was a prearranged meeting at this location. We believe the motive for the shooting is drug-related. The victims are known to police, and it appears that it is a drug deal gone bad.” – D.F. Pace (Philadelphia Police Department)
Police learned that two other victims, aged 18 & 19, were also shot in the incident. They were taken to the hospital by private vehicle. There is no word on their conditions. The 18-year old arrived at the hospital in extremely critical condition, but was later upgraded to stable condition. No arrests have been made in the shooting yet, but police are hoping area surveillance cameras may have caught the shooting or part of it.
