Philadelphia Police say they are investigating, after a shootout between two men, turned into two men shooting at police. A report from 6 ABC ACTION NEWS said the incident happened on the 4800 block of Keyser Street, in the Germantown section of the city, at around 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
Police say they were driving by in an unmarked car, when they spotted two suspects shooting at each other. According to the police report, one of the suspects stopped shooting at the other, turned and opened fire on police.
“The passenger police officer exited his vehicle, identified himself as a police officer and ordered the males to drop their weapons. The male that was closest to the police officer turned around and began firing shots at that officer.”
Said Philadelphia Police Sgt. Eric Gripp. The officer driving the car reportedly chased after the suspect and fired one shot through his windshield. A 23-year old man and a 20-year old man were both arrested. Two weapons were recovered. No injuries have been reported in the incident.
