PHILADELPHIA, P.A. (KENSINGTON/NORTH PHILLY)
Police in Philadelphia said an attempted carjacking suspect was shot and seriously injured, after the tables were turned on him by a pizza deliveryman in Kensington on Thursday night. According to 6 ABC ACTION NEWS, the incident happened on the 3300 block of H Street at around 7:38 p.m.

Police say the delivery driver was dropping off food on the block, when he was approached by an unnamed 23-year old man, who pointed a weapon at the deliveryman and demanded that he get out of his car. The deliveryman (who is licensed to carry) reached for his own weapon and let loose. The deliveryman fired a total of six shots.

The suspect returned fire. The victim was not hit, but the suspected carjacker was. He was rushed to the hospital by a private vehicle. He is currently hospitalized and was in extremely critical condition at last report. Police say two people who were with the suspect are being questioned. Police didn’t say if those suspects had just drove the injured suspect to the hospital, or if they are accused of being part of the crime also.
