Philadelphia Police say a 17-year old student was shot and killed outside of Bartram High School on Wednesday afternoon. 6- ABC ACTION NEWS reported that the incident happened on the 2300 block of South 66th Street, at around 2:55 p.m.

The student, who was listed as a 12th grader at the school, was shot in the chest. Action News said they learned that the school was about to dismiss students for the day when the shooting happened. The school was forced to go into lockdown until the area was cleared at around 4 p.m.

The 12th grader was rushed to Penn-Presbyterian Hospital, where he died from his injuries shortly after arriving. Police say no one has been arrested yet, but an investigation into the murder is underway.
