Police in Philly say a Lyft driver shot two suspects during an attempted carjacking in the Parkside section of the city on Monday afternoon. According to 6 ABC ACTION NEWS, the incident happened on the 1100 block of N. 40th Street around 2:40 p.m.

Police said the drama began when a 38-year old Lyft driver, was hit from behind by another vehicle several times. As the man got out of his 2011 Infinity, an occupant of the other vehicle jumped out of the car armed with a shotgun. He jumped into the Lyft driver’s Infinity and began to drive off. Police say, that was when the Lyft driver fired at the suspect. The second suspect, reportedly attempted to hit the Lyft driver with his car. The Lyft driver fired again.

The suspect who took off in the Infinity was located in the 4200 block of Parkside Avenue. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital, and last reported to be in critical condition. The second suspect was located on the 4300 block of Lancaster Avenue. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to his right side. He was taken to the hospital. Like the first suspect, this one was also listed in critical condition at last report. Police say both suspects are currently under arrest.
