Philadelphia Police say three men were taken into custody as part of an ongoing string of robberies, in which victims had their watches stolen. According to a report from 6 ABC ACTION NEWS, two of the suspects are 19-years old, and the third is 22-years old.
Police say the trio’s latest robbery took place on Wednesday evening at around 6:15 p.m. Police said a man and a woman were moving furniture from a car to a garage, on the 1300 block of South 19th Street, in South Philly. The driver of a dark-colored Subaru SUV stopped his car and backed up in the couple’s direction. Two male passengers armed with handguns jumped out of the SUV. One of them pointed his weapon at the male victim, as he demanded money and the victim’s silver Fossil watch. Police said the male victim also handed over his cell phone to the suspect.
The other suspect approached the female and told her not to move. The suspects then jumped back into the Subaru and fled. The male victim managed to get the suspect’s license plate as they drove off. The same suspects were pulled over by plainclothes police officers shortly after 7 p.m. in Rittenhouse Square. Police say at least one of the suspects admitted to being involved in multiple robberies in the Center City area.
