A jury found Beer Belly’s Sports Bar, in Corpus Christi, Texas, guilty of overserving a patron back in 2017. That patron hit and killed two people with his car, after leaving the bar. That guilty verdict will cost Beer Belly’s $301 BILLION.
A report from NEWSWEEK said, Joshua Delbosque killed 16=year old, Aujuni Tamay Anderson, and her 59-year old grandmother, Tamra Kay Kindred, in November of 2017. Police say Kindred was heading home, after picking up Anderson from her job at a local pizza place, when Delbosque, who was doing around 91 m.p.h., blew through a red light and struck them with his car. Kindred, Anderson, and Delbosque were all killed in the crash.
The family of Kindred and Anderson sued Beer Belly’s for overserving Delbosque. The $301 billion Beer Belly’s has been ordered to pay to the family, has been declared the largest penalty ever for such a crime.
