45-year old David Savage has been charged with 1st degree murder in the killing of his girlfriend near her family members in Upper Darby, and then going on a shooting spree. A report from 6 ABC ACTION NEWS said, Savage was also charged with four counts of attempted murder, and four counts of aggravated assault for the shooting spree at the 69th Street Transportation Center, after killing his girlfriend.
Police say the whole thing started at around 4 a.m on Thursday morning. That was the fatal killing of his girlfriend, by Savage. That incident that took place in the 7000 block of Terminal Square.
Delaware County District Attorney, Jack Stollsteimer, on Friday, said Savage put a gun to Latoya Gary’s (his girlfriend) head and fired. Latoya and her family were in her apartment when she was murdered. After that, Savage went outside and shot at a random male passerby on Market Street. That victim suffered a graze wound to his shoulder and neck. Savage then ran across the street and fired at people who were on the steps entering the 69th Street Transportation Center. Savage then allegedly, fired multiple shots at responding Septa Police on the 6900 block of Market Street. Officers returned fire, before eventually taking Savage into custody.
