Chicago police say a shooting that took place on Sunday night left one man dead. According to NBC-5 CHICAGO the shooting happened on Chicago’s South side, in the Bronzeville neighborhood.

Police say a 27-year old woman was standing inside of an unnamed establishment, when a man stepped on her shoes. This caused an argument between a 25-year old man, and a group of men. Police say the verbal disagreement escalated to gunfire pretty quickly.

When the smoke cleared, the 25-year old man was struck with gunfire in the torso, neck, and arm. He died a short time later at a nearby hospital. A bullet struck the woman in the chin. She survived, but was taken to the hospital. She was last listed in fair condition.

No arrests have been made yet.
