WOMAN SHOT TO DEATH IN D.C. APARTMENT COMPLEX WAS TRYING TO WALK AWAY FROM ARGUMENT

WASHINGTON D.C.

47-year old, Dametrics Evans, was shot and killed in the hallway of an apartment building in the 4900 block of G Street SE, on Monday night according to a report from NBC 4 WASHINGTON.

A man was also shot in the Monday night incident. His current condition is reported as unknown, but he reportedly sustained “life-threatening” injuries after being shot.

Evans’ daughter said her mother was trying to walk away from an argument with a neighbor. A man then came after her with a gun. Chenquannah Evans also said she watched her mother die right before her eyes.

“It was a lot of different emotions. Anger, sadness, defeated ’cause I couldn’t fix it and make her come back. My mom was my everything”

Dametrics Evans had three children, Chenquannah Evans (age not reported), spoke about her mother and siblings.

“Me and my siblings, we argue, we fight, but we was thick as thieves. Couldn’t tell us nothing. It’s us against the world. And that’s how she raised us, and that’s how we gonna be now that she’s gone.”

Chenquannah Evans said.
