At least 116 people were killed, and 80 more were reported injured on Tuesday after a prison riot in an Ecuadorian prison riot. Ecuadorian officials said there have been at least 5 beheadings at the prison since the wars began, CNN reported on Thursday.

Officials say the bloodshed at Litoral Penitentiary in Guayaquil, Ecuador, broke out as International drug gangs competed for control of the prison. Regional Police Commander, Fausto Buenano, said gang members fought with guns, knives, and homemade bombs. Buenano went on to say, dead bodies have been found everywhere, including inside of the prison’s piping. The two gangs reported to be battling for control of the prison are the “Los Lobos” and “Los Choneros.
