ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO

Local officers were called to a shooting at around 5:20 am local time. They found one victim dead when they arrived on the scene of the shooting…..a Subway Restaurant at 1306 Gibson Blvd. Southeast, according to KCTV-5.

Police say an employee shot and killed the deceased after he entered the restaurant and tried to rob him.

“After preliminary investigation, talking to some of the employees at the business, it appeared that the male had entered the business and attempted to rob one of the employees. There was an employee who was armed, that came out of the back room, I think, to help the other employee who was being robbed.”

Said Gilbert Gallegos, APD Spokesman. Gallegos went on to say that detectives were working to confirm the identity of the alleged robber, and what motivated the attempted robbery at this particular location.
