PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA
Police say two rival groups exchanged gunfire just after 8pm on a Mayfair street. The incident happened Saturday night on Unruh Avenue.
“We have over 65, approaching 70 shell cases on the scene. We believe that this gun battle was motivated by a dispute over drug territory in this location.”
Philadelphia Police Inspector, D.F. Pace said.

CBS Philly, reported that nearly six dozen shell casings, spanning a full block in Mayfair, were recovered. Police say an 18-year old man was standing on the corner of Unruh Avenue and Walker Street, when a car pulled up and started firing off shots. The 18-year old was injured in the shooting. His group returned fire at the occupants of the car. Several cars on the block were hit with bullets.
The injured teen was taken to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital, where he immediately underwent emergency surgery. One person was arrested. Police also say they recovered one of the weapons used in the shootout.
