SUPREME COURT JUDGE NAMED AS SUSPECT IN ASSASSINATION OF HAITI PRESIDENT

Haitian police put some new accusations forward in the assassination of Haitian President, Jovenel Moise. Police now say a former Supreme Court Judge, who is currently on the run from the law, is wanted in connection with the Haitian President’s murder.

The New York Post reported, Wendell Coq-Thelot, allegedly met with Columbian mercenaries who are accused of murdering the president. An arrest warrant was issued for Coq-Thelot earlier this week. Authorities say they have not been able to locate the former judge. She’d been ousted by Moise back in February, because he suspected her of planning a coup against him.

Colombian hitmen and Haitian-Americans arrested in connection with the assassination, told investigators they met with Coq-Therot before the raid on the president’s home.

“Several of them {assassins} have indicated that they have been to Mrs. Coq’s home at least twice. These people gave to {police} details of documents signed during the meeting at Mrs. Coq’s home.”

Said Inspector General Marie Michelle Verrier. Coq-Therot’s homes had been raided by police, and wanted posters has also been plastered across the country. One of Moise’s top security officials was placed under arrest on Tuesday on suspicion of involvement. So far, more than 24 people have been arrested in connection with the assassination of Haiti’s President. Dozens more has been held for questioning.
