HOUSTON, TEXAS

A shooting at the Houston Downtown Aquarium left two people dead and a third person injured. Police in Texas say the incident happened Thursday night, according to a report from NBC News.

At a press conference on Friday morning, Houston Police Executive Chief, Matt Slinkard, said their initial investigation indicated that a man, seated at the bar at the aquarium restaurant, appeared to have walked toward a couple dining at the far end of the bar and shot them.

The couple took a video of the shooter, who sat feet away from them at the bar

“This suspect got up, and in a very quick manner, went around the bar to the area where the male and female were together. That suspect at that time immediately started firing rounds.”

Slinkard said. The man shot the woman and the man before turning the gun on himself. Both men were killed. The woman survived with injuries and is in stable condition.

Houston police talked to the woman on Friday morning. They gave an update on the motive, which is now listed as “unknown”, after the wife told detectives that the man she was with was her husband. The woman said she, nor her husband knew the suspect who shot them. The woman suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and is expected to make a full recovery.
