Philadelphia Police’s S.W.A.T Unit was called to a home in South Philly. Cops said they tracked a man who was wanted for murdering his ex-girlfriend’s, boyfriend to the house. Police say the man committed the murder early on Tuesday morning.

6ABC Philadelphia reported, the SWAT team was called to the suspect’s last known address on 25th & Mifflin Streets. Police were attempting to determine whether the suspect was in the home or not. Cops cleared the scene around 5:30 am. It was not known if anyone was taken into custody at that time.

Police believe the suspect shot and killed the boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend a couple of hours earlier. The shooting happened at 1:30 a.m. in Southwest Philly in the area of the 2000 block of Alden Street. The suspect is alleged to have shot the boyfriend in the chest multiple times before fleeing the scene. The murder happened in the second floor bedroom of a home on the block. The 26-year old victim died at the scene.
“We’re getting information that a male, a known doer, entered the property, went up to the second floor, had a verbal altercation with the victim and that’s when shots were fired”
Chief Inspector Scott Small said on Tuesday.
