ARVADA, COLORADO

Three people were killed in a shooting In Arvada, Colorado on Monday afternoon. A bystander, a police officer, and an alleged suspect. After investigating the incident overnight, the police came up with a theory of what they believe happened.

MSN. com (https://www.msn.com/) reported that investigators believe the police officer was targeted because he was in a law enforcement uniform. Investigators say evidence shows that the officer was killed in an “ambush-type” style. The Arvada Police Chief, Link Strate said of slain officer, Gordon Beesley, a 19-year veteran of the force.

What’s known is that Beesley was responding to a call of “something” suspicious happening near the Arvada Library. What’s not known is what led up to the encounter that turned deadly between the officer and suspect.

“We know there are many rumors already floating around. this is still an active investigation and we will not be able to address or confirm rumors. At this time we believe this was an isolated incident and there is no continued threat to our community.”

Detective David Snelling wrote in a press release.
