The city of Miami Beach declared a state of emergency on Saturday due to huge crowds of spring-breakers who have descended on the Spring-Break “hotspot.” Miami Mayor, Dan Gelber announced an 8pm curfew for the city. The Mayor also shuttered shore-bound traffic on the city’s causeways.

NBC News (@nbcnews) reported, both measures will be in effect for at least the next 72 hours. City officials reported seeing crowds the size of a packed concert in some places around the city. The state of Florida recently passed 2 million deaths. Parts of South Florida have become “hot-spots” for Covid-19 transmission.
