Last night’s episode left me wondering about Leon’s chances of surviving the rest of this season. This episode started off with Leon and his crew going out to grab something to eat from one of the local food stands. Wanda is there. Begging, of course. This time she trying to sell her tooth that fell out last episode. Lee gives her a little money and heads off to order his food. Unbeknownst to Lee and his crews, Skully is sitting in a parked car up the block. As soon as Skully sees Lee and his gang begin to relax a little, he makes his move. Skully and his homies are about to pull a drive-by. Wanda warns Lee right before Skully & squad starts blasting. Wanda yelling his name gave Lee and his homies the opportunity to hide for cover just as the bullets from the car Skully is riding in are beginning to fly. After the drive-by, Lee and most of his crew survive the ambush. Wanda doesn’t though. Well, she’s not dead, but she’s been hit, and needs to be rushed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Franklin is ecstatic after he and his mother close on another big business deal they hope will benefit the people in the neighborhood. A conversation with his mom about when he planned on retiring from the drug game turns Franklin’s happiness to worry. Franklin is suddenly worried about what’s going on above him. Like, how long Teddy is going to be able to supply him. Teddy has a bunch of issues of his own going on right now, like trying to find his $15 million shipment of missing guns. He tells Franklin that he doesn’t have a real answer for him. Franklin goes back and tells his crew he’s looking to expand out of state. Aunt Louie suggests Little Rock, Arkansas. She says she knows some people out there. Franklin tasks Louie and Jerome with setting up shop in Arkansas.
In other Franklin news, he may have found a new love interest in the midst of this mess. Franklin ended up sleeping with the chick Tanosse, that gave him the scoop on Skully. That was probably a big mistake on his part, because the next time he goes to Louie’s bar, the chick is now working there. I don’t know what it is, but something about sis ain’t sitting right with me. Am I tripping? I feel like she might try to set Franklin up to get robbed or killed.
Lee spends the night at the hospital with Wanda after her surgery. Lee tells her if she doesn’t clean up her act, he’s done with her. The next day, Lee is hot on Skully’s tail. Lee hired a private investigator who found that Skully usually travels to his grandmother’s house about twice a week. Grandmom’s house is not in Skully’s territory. The hope is that he will be vulnerable outside of the safety of his neighborhood. Lee and his squad decide to sit on grandmom’s house and see what they can see. About 20 minutes later a car rides up on Lee and squad as they’re parked, doing surveillance on Skully’s grandmom’s crib. The car stops at a red light. Directly next to the car Lee is in. Both cars spot their enemies at the same time. The two carloads of men begin shooting at each other right there in the streets. In broad daylight. Lee escapes the carnage and sprays the car with bullets. As he’s moving in for the kill he can see the dead bodies of the men he’s just killed. But, there’s a woman in the back seat crying hysterically. And she’s cradling a young girl who’s been hit by the gunfire. More than likely, the bullet that tore into the child, came from Lee’s gun, because he sprayed the shit out of that car. Lee is clearly disturbed by the whole incident as he and his bodyguard slide off before the police arrive on the scene.
