Dallas Police Officer, Bryan Riser, 36, was arrested on Thursday was arrested on Thursday and charged with two counts of capital murder. According to the New York Post (@nypost), after one of the men were arrested and charged as a suspect in the murder of one of the two victims, he told police that he had been hired to kidnap and kill the two people, Liza Saenz, 31, and Albert Douglas, 60.

Police Chief Eddie Garcia said the motives for the slayings were still unknown, but it was not connected to Riser’s work as a police officer. Garcia also acknowledged that Riser, a 13-year veteran of the police force, was allowed to continue working the streets as a police officer even while he was named a “person of interest” in August of 2019. Garcia said Riser had a relationship with one of the victims, but refused to go any further than that when pressed. One of the three men arrested for the two murders said he knew Riser since childhood back in 2013. He said Riser contacted him and asked if he still rob people and break into houses like they did when they were younger.
