Ann Herbert, a longtime top executive at Nike suddenly resigned from her position on Monday. Ms. Herbert had reportedly been employed by Nike for over 25-years. Ms. Herbert resigned on Monday amid questions about her son’s sneaker resell business, and whether he used a credit card in her name for his company.

The New York Times (@nytimes) reported, Ms. Herbert’s resignation came one week after Bloomberg Businessweek (@business), published an article on the rise of West Coast Streetwear. The buy/resell sneaker and clothing business had been gaining lots of buzz in the industry. That report, led to the discovery of the owner of the up and coming company. 19-year old, Joe Herbert. The son of Nike Executive, Ann Herbert. Joe and his company purchase large amounts of highly sought after footwear, like Yeezy’s and Jordan’s. Purchase enough bulk and you can afford yourself some room to turn a nice profit when you resell. In the article, Mr. Herbert spoke about how he once spent $132,000 on hundreds of pairs of sneakers and was able to resell them and make a $20,000 profit. In the article, Herbert also acknowledged that his mom was an executive at Nike. Herbert said her position at Nike was removed from his work and that she did not provide him with inside information.
