Yahoo Sports (@yahoosports) was first to report this morning that former Tampa  Bay Bucs QB, Jameis Winston and the New Orleans Saints have agreed to a 1-year deal that will send Winston down to New Orleans to back up starter Drew Brees next season. Brees’s former backup, Teddy Bridgewater landed a gig in Carolina this offseason, where he will likely take over the starting job for Panthers ex-QB, Cam Newton, who is currently a free agent. Winston parted ways with the Bucs this offseason, who quickly snatched up former New England Patriots legend Tom Brady. According to NFL insiders, Jameis will have to battle with Saints QB/WR/Anything the team needs him to do player, Taysom Hill. The multi-talented, Hill just signed a 2-year $21 million contract today. $16 million of that 21 is guaranteed, by the way. The terms of Winston’s contract have not yet been publicly disclosed, but I’m not expecting to see any eye opening numbers when the terms are released to the public. I’m honestly puzzled by this move. Why would they pay Taysom Hill the kind of money that says the Saints want him to be their future starting QB, then immediately bring in another QB? Winston threw for 5109 yards last season and threw 33 touchdowns…..he also threw 30 interceptions.
