WASHINGTON, D.C 2/11/2020 1:05pm (est)
In a highly unusual move, the Feds have announced that they have changed their sentencing recommendation for Trump associate and confidante, Roger Stone. This comes one day after the Feds announced that they were recommending 7 – 9 years in prison for the convicted Stone, and also after a tweet this morning from the President of The United States calling Stone’s sentencing recommendation “a very horrible and unfair situation.”

The Associated Press (@ap) reported, A Department Of Justice Official said the sentencing recommendation for Stone was extreme and excessive, and disproportionate to Stone’s situation. The unnamed official spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity. The official also said that there had been no contact between the President and the D.O.J regarding the sudden change in Stone’s sentencing recommendation. The Justice Department says they plan to refile Stone’s sentencing recommendation later on today, just one day after they filed a recommendation of between 7-9 years in prison for Stone. Stone was convicted back in November on seven counts including accusations of lying to Congress, witness tampering, and obstructing the House investigation into whether the Trump Campaign coordinated with Russia to tamper with the 2016 Presidential election.
