Multiple sports outlets have reported that long time L.A. Chargers QB Phillip Rivers and the team are parting ways. According to sources Rivers and the Chargers mutually agreed that he would not be returning to the team for the 2020/2021 season. The 38-year old has been the Chargers starting QB since the 2005/2006 season. He played backup for Drew Brees in his first two seasons in the league for the then San Diego Chargers. The 8-time pro bowler has thrown for 59,271 yards and 397 TD’s in his 16-year NFL career.

Rivers isn’t the only big name QB who may be entering the free agency market this offseason. There have been rumors swirling that 42-year old long time New England Patriots QB Tom Brady may also be on the market this offseason. We’re only in Feb., but it’s beginning to look like there may be a storm of NFL news on the horizon. I’ll try to keep you posted on all of the big moves.
