30-year old Qaw’mane Wilson was sentenced to 99-years in prison on Friday in a murder for hire plot to kill his own mother. The gunman, Eugene Spencer was sentenced to 100-years in prison for pulling the trigger.
NBC5 Chicago (@nbcchicago) reported, the pair were convicted last March on charges of first degree murder and home invasion. The victim, Yolanda Adams was Wilson’s mother. Ms. Adams worked as a hairstylist in Chicago’s Uptown area of the city. Prosecutors said Ms. Adams spoiled her son. Buying him practically anything he wanted. Including expensive clothes, jewelry, and a Ford Mustang. Prosecutors allege that the gifts and lifestyle his mother provided him with wasn’t enough for Wilson. He wanted more. So on September 23, 2012 Wilson sent Spencer to his mother’s house to kill her. Wilson was 23-years old at the time of his mother’s murder. Wilson planned on raiding her bank accounts once she was dead. Wilson went through with his plan after his mother was murdered. Prosecutors say in the first few months after his mother’s death Wilson withdrew nearly $70,000 from his mom’s bank accounts. He spent the money on clothes and upgrading his Mustang. The same Mustang that his mom had purchased for him. Wilson also posted a video of himself withdrawing thousands of dollars from the bank and heading to the hood and “making it rain” for his “fans.” Wilson went by the rap name Young QC. The video was played for the jury during Wilson’s trial. When asked if he had anything to say before the judge read the verdict, Wilson replied
” I just want to say, nobody loved my mother more than me. She was all I had. That’s it”
