BROOKLYN, NY
The former lawyer for Martin Shkreli, A.K.A “Pharma Bro” has been sentenced to serve 18 months in a federal prison, after being convicted of charges related to the same crimes his one-time infamous client is currently serving a 7-year prison term for.

CBS News (@CBSNews) reported, Evan Greebal was sentenced in a Brooklyn District courtroom on Friday. Greebal was convicted by a jury of conspiring to commit securities and wire fraud back in December. Greebal begged the judge for leniency before the sentence was handed out.

“I will regret every day of my life the day that I met Martin Shkrelli. I’m begging for this court’s mercy to give me the lowest sentence possible.”
Prosecutors had argued that Greebel took deliberate actions to help Shkrelli defraud investors. Greebel was also ordered to pay $10.5 million in restitution to the drug company Retrophin.
