More than 60 people have recently taken ill after eating Pre-cut melons. 31 people remain hspitalized after eating melons contaminated with salmonella, according to federal health officials.

NBC News (@nbcnews) reports, the suspected cut melons were sold in stores including Costco, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Walgreens, and Whole Foods in eight states, according to data obtained by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. (CDC)

All are linked to the Caito Foods facility in Indianapolis, Indiana according to the CDC. The company has already recalled the melon. The CDC said the recalled products were sold in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio.

The recalled melons could also have been used to make fruit salad by local retailers. It’s best if you pass on anything containing melons for now.
