This Is America. Wow! I don’t want to turn into one of those overreacting – “I’m going to write a thinkpiece about everything” type of weird ass people, but, I have to give Donald Glover – AKA Childish Gambino, props on this one. This is easily one of the most eye opening videos I’ve ever seen in my life. And I come from the days of watching videos like Public Enemy’s “Fight The Power”, KRS-One’s “You Must Learn”, and Tupac’s “Brenda’s Got A Baby.” The thing about this Childish Gambino video that I really appreciate is that it makes people see what they want to walk around here acting like they can’t see. It puts the issues  black folks in America face on a daily basis right in your face. It’s impossible to claim blindness to issues in this country after watching this video. *Warning* this video does contain graphic depictions of violence. All in all, I give this video a 10, especially when you consider all of the horrible message-less music being made these days. Kudos Childish Gambino! Check the video out below:
