I can honestly say, I know how Celtics fans must feel right now. Remember way way back, when the Eagles were the favorite to win the Super Bowl in week 10 of the NFL season, and then Carson Wentz suddenly went down with a knee injury? Yeah, this has to be the same way Celtics fans are feeling today.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) just reported that Kyrie Irving will miss the rest of the regular season and the playoffs following left knee surgery.

Many people (myself included), thought the Celtics were the favorite coming out of the East this season with Kyrie Irving in the lineup. They have a solid young squad, and with a player like Kyrie leading the charge, there seemed to be no limits to how far the Celtics could go this season. Without Kyrie in the lineup, I’m not so sure about this. Boston still has a nice young squad, but Kyrie’s leadership out there was an important part of why the Celtics were so successful this season (In my honest opinion). I can’t see the Celtics beating a Lebron-led Cavs squad in a seven game series. Sorry Celtics fans. But hey, look on the bright side……many so called expert analyst said the exact same thing when Carson Wentz went down with a season-ending knee injury, and look what happened to the Birds. Maybe the Celtics can do the same type of thing……..maybe not.
