In South Africa, a suspected poacher was fatally mauled and eaten by a pack of lions near a National Park. Police said the lions left just the man’s head and a few remains behind.
The New York Post (@nypost) reports, A police spokesman in Limpopo reported that a loaded hunting rifle was found near the man’s remains early Saturday morning at a private game park in Hoedspruit, west of Kruger National Park. The park contains large numbers of “Big 5” game species. ( lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and buffalo.)
“It seems the victim was poaching in the game park when he was attacked and killed by lions.” They ate his body. Nearly all of it, and just left his head and some remains.” Limpopo police spokesman Moatshe Ngoepe said. Investigators were working to determine the man’s identity.
