White House Staff Secretary Rob Porter has resigned following allegations of abuse by two of his ex-wives. CNN (@cnn) reports, Porter denied the allegations, even though he decided to voluntarily resign.
“These outrageous allegations are simply false. I have been transparent and truthful about these vile claims, but I will not further engage publicly with a coordinated smear campaign.” Porter said in a statement today. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Porter’s last day at work at the White House has not been set yet. The allegations against Porter were first reported last week. Porter’s ex-wives went into detail about the alleged abuse in an interview with The Daily Mail last week. One of Porter’s ex-wives also supplied a photo of her with a black eye she allegedly received from Porter.
