Here’s a strange story. The Associated Press (@AP) reports, a Southern California man charges with stealing a $300,000 Ferrari was arrested after reportedly asking for gas money.
Santa Anna police arrested Israle Perez Rengel on Nov. 11. He’s pleaded not guitly to car theft. Authorities say the 458 Spider was brought into a Costa Mesa service center, but stolen in October after a worker left the key on the passenger seat. Security video showed a man in a Ferrari jacket walking onto the lot and taking the car. Two weeks later, the car showed up at a Santa Ana Mobile Station where Rangel was asking for gas money. The car was all but trashed. Rangel fled the scene but was found in some bushes a short while later.
The Los Angeles Times (@latimes) said insures paid the owner of the totaled Ferrari. She used the money to buy a brand new 2018 Lamborghini Huracan.
