Philly native and rapper Meek Mill’s attorneys asked the Pennsylvania Superior Court to reconsider Philly Judge Genece Brinkley’s decision to sentence Meek to 2-4 years in state prison on a probation violation. The court denied the motion and referred the case back to the court of Common Pleas, pointing to the pending bail motion.

 

 

 

KYW News Radio (KYWNewsradio) reports, The emergency filing filed by Meek’s attorneys is called a Petition for Habeas Corpus. The Petition asks for the higher court to determine if a defendant’s imprisonment is unlawful. Meek remains locked up in a Chester P.A. prison after the high court’s denial. His attorneys have filed a motion to appeal his case in Philadelphia.
