At least eight people were killed this afternoon when a Home Depot truck plowed down bike riders on a Lower Manhattan bike path this afternoon. A man was shot before being arrested at the scene, after a truck hit a school bus. Eyewitnesses said the man was waving a bb gun and an air pistol. Both weapons were found at the scene by police. The truck jumped a curb near Houston Street before it got on the bike path and began running down unsuspecting bikers along the bike path. One person on the school bus was critically injured and rushed to Bellevue Hospital. 15 people in all were injured on the bus. Eyewitnesses at the scene reported hearing at least 15 gun shots.
