ROBERT GUILLAUME, TWO TIME EMMY AWARD WINNER, KNOWN FOR ROLE AS “BENSON” DIES AT 89

Actor Robert Guillaume who was well known for his role in the sitcom ‘Benson’ has died at the age of 89. Guillaume was the winner of two Emmy awards for his role on the show. The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) reports Guillaume died at home with his wife, Donna Brown Guillaume in Los Angeles. He had been battling prostate cancer. Guillaume has a long list of film credits including appearances in: SEEMS LIKE OLD TIMES(1980), LEAN ON ME(1989), DEATH WARRANT(1990), THE METEOR MAN(1993), FIRST KID(1996), SPY HARD(1996), and BIG FISH(2003). Outside of Benson, Guillaume has made many appearances in television sitcoms, including appearances in: JULIA MARCUS WELBY M.D., ALL IN THE FAMILY, THE JEFFERSONS, GOOD TIMES, THE LOVE BOAT, L.A. LAW, DIAGNOSIS MURDER, TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, and 8 SIMPLE RULES FOR DATING MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER.
