Four years after the fact? Really? Yahoo has finally come up with an estimated number of accounts that were affected by the 2013 hack. That number? All of them. Yup, if you had a Yahoo Email account in 2013, your account was part of the hack. Don’t really know why you had a Yahoo Email account in 2013, but nevertheless, there it is. The company, now a part of Verizon Communications Inc, reported the information this afternoon, following an investigation involving forensic experts.
Not all bad news though. The company did report that the information that was stolen did not include passwords in clear text, payment card data, or bank account information. I don’t know if that information will help Yahoo to get any of the millions of customers it lost after the hack back, but, good for them.
