AARON HERNANDEZ’S FIANCE’ WANTS $20 MIL FROM NFL & THE PATRIOTS

On the same day that it was revealed that Aaron Hernandez had a severe case of CTE at the time he committed suicide in his prison cell, Hernandez’s fiance’ Shayanna Jenkins announced that she was hitting the NFL and the New England Patriots with a $20 million lawsuit. The suit claims that the NFL and the Patriots both knew of Hernandez’s condition prior to him committing the crime he was eventually convicted of and sentence to life in prison for, and covering up Hernandez’s condition. The lawsuit alleges that the NFL and Patriots both knowingly “concealed and misrepresented the risks of repeated traumatic head impacts to NFL players.” And also “needlessly delayed adoption of rules and league policies related to player health and safety with regard to concussions and subconcussive head trauma.” Jenkins’ attorney, and former Hernandez criminal trial attorney Jose Baez, said that Boston University’s CTE Center revealed that Hernandez suffered from “the most severe case of CTE they had ever seen for someone Aaron’s age(27)” Shayanna Jenkins is going to win this case.(In my opinion) I doubt if the NFL even allows this lawsuit to make it into a courtroom. They will gladly settle out of court before they will allow more spotlight to be placed on them about current NFL players and former NFL players suffering from CTE. That is only one of the problem the billion dollar a year machine named the NFL is having at the moment. $20 million is just a drop in the bucket to the NFL. Shayanna should’ve sued for more.
